what to say about this man called toby young, lets start with the positive. without any shadow of doubt here stands a very intelligent articulate human, who gives all the impression of listing with due attention to who ever happens to be discussing/reasoning with him, equally his response to professional opinions/observations was done in a calm and considered manner, this i have to say is very rare quality and is one of his quality that has help him get where he is today.
on top of all this i believe he has a genuinely passion about the equality in this world and even has a understand of the spring of where all equality comes from, which he believes comes from the (so called) elite of this world at eton, oxford cambridge, not only did he point out this reasoning he also added this is where he comes and on top of this, he said to me that 2 years above him was david cameron.
it is also worth pointing out that for a while he went to Creighton comprehensive School (now called some what disturbingly “Fortismere School”)
it is this duality of education that has influence toby to this very day. also this is a point that me and toby agree on comprehensive are great, this is not to be confused as meaning perfect.
but from such root something truly life changing can begin (one expsmale i would do is never let them close but at night and holidays let the space be used be adult education center. it is madness letting tax paid for community buildings stand empty for such extended periods of time. this could only every happen in a comprehensive system simple because the community own the buildings)
just an important reality to consider on this line of thought, when one trying to grasp the fundamental of a country mistakes/objectives and are looking for a course of action into to making it a great and lasting country.
it is of great importance to make note that almost all are religious leaders mi5 & mi6 leaders, military leaders, business leaders, politicians judges, journalist and the heads of most institutions almost come from same small pool of education that i have mentioned above and what a stagnant old pool it is.
(that list above, religious leaders mi5 & mi6 leaders, military leaders …...etc, is done in order of importance when it comes to running/controlling a country/europe, there will also be individuals who have more than one of these titles to their chest.
i personally think democratic elected politicians should be top of that list. but we don't live in a democracy, we live in what Alan Rusbridger, cambridge educated & now editor of the guardian said is called a “floored democracy”. which of course is no democracy at all)
therefore how can we ever expect our leader and managers ever to make the world a better place when hundreds of years intellectual inbreeding can only produces deleterious recessive men and women thinkers, who are then given these positions of control and (stunted) creativity and in turn who there selfs repeat this devastating cycle.
that has not only given us the world we all breath today, but created one of the past and will endeavor seemingly at all costs, to create the same one for tomorrow(this last statement includes the whole world and not just england)
poverty, pollution, war, recession, fear, hate, and obsessive religious annihilation.
(all this architecture needs careful management how interesting would it be to interview someone who does this job. im pretty sure that these individuals must be conscious of the totality of there position/role they play, but maybe not! if not, how tragic for all of them. for no one that intelligent can truly hide from them selfs)
one very simple way of ending this cycle for ever is not letting these school choose who educated there, but instead let the highest acives from all schools in engalnd wale and scotland win there place there on merit of brilliance.
in a system totleal open and accountable at every turn, lets us as a committee be proud of helping supporting your child or the child next door who would now have a realistic opportunity to be educated by the best. this in true shape a new of education at these institutes in the long term, for now there would be accountable to the people
right back to toby young, who as i have already pointed out is a great man but who education has so distorted his interpretation of reality that all actions and thought are distilled thought this stagnant pool and which in turn he will pass on this same tragic intellectual inbreeding.
when toby was not pointing out who was wrong and his own brilliantly clever negative metaphor he has thought of (that is sarcasm by the way), there were small moments of what he felt was the right actions for educating young men and women and the reasons to the conclusion he has come to.
of how these conclusions have now turned into a reality, in the shape of a institution called West London Free School, whose motto in latin (lol... i wonder if toby has given over any deep thought to why latin is used) is "dare to be wise", or more accurately "dare to know".
but as i have noted the time left in detailing his own path was totally inadequate to the grand and very noble project he has set him self upon and the thousands of school children who are now going through his vision of education/reality.
i think its about time now he drops alot of this crap (not all) and pay all attention to his own purposes and that of all young man and women who are now having there most formative years being shaped.
some points i did pick out that where not muddled up with in his brilliant negative meteor (again sarcasm ;), was that you must learn his(when i say his i mean oxford, cambridge and eton) canon of people, history and artists who are brilliant ie william shakespeare etc. this point was later called out by a member of the ordnance in q&a that such a concept of a fixed pool thinkers, historical events and artist.
closes the door to any other thinkers historical events and artist who have not been deemed of merit, this of course is a very very very big list of people, dates and creatives who are not on the list.
(no one is suggesting here to include all history but its not beyond the wit of humans to think of way to include other histories into the childs realm. but the way toby has played it, leads to claims of cultural genocide by members of the audience) which i think was a fair point
the trick that toby is missing here is he know something of the educations system that builds closed doors to the roots of power and influence.
what he could bring to the schools he is now in charge of, is shinning an intellectual light on the system he went thought and why they create a world we all live in, toby young i challenge you by your own motto “Sapere aude” to incorporate the above statements in to your schools education
but as things stand for toby the means any of his solution are seemingly impossible resolve given his goal he outlined, tonight
